Scotty Gunderson is a creative partner & visual storyteller.
I’m a freelance creative director and artist based in Minneapolis. I specialize in visual storytelling through design, brand creative, content creation, UX/UI, writing, art-making, and more. With over 10+ years of experience, I’ve supported a wide range of clients from startups to Fortune 100 companies like 3M and Nestle, as well as organizations like the United Nations. Over the last 3+ years, I’ve driven brand and in-house creative at Joshin, a workplace SaaS startup focused on supporting disability and neurodiversity in the workplace.
My artistic practice is transdisciplinary and spans performance spectacle, painting, video, and installations. My work has been exhibited in New York City, Philadelphia, Minnesota, and Wyoming. In 2019, I directed and produced a short film called No Magic with my creative partner Jason Zabel. I’ve directed and designed over 25 plays, musicals, and interactive performance experiences, including the "Hmong-Lao Friendship Play," a sold-out performance spectacle that went on to tour around the United States. My photography work has been featured in Hunger Magazine, and I am the co-creator of "Solid Waste", a photo zine made with photographer Colin Michael Simmons.
